The Alhambra in Granada (Spain)

La AlhambraThis time we visit Granada in the autonomous community of Andalusia in Spain, to visit one of its main attractions: The Alhambra.

The Alhambra in Granada is a medieval walled city, including a palace, a fortress and a host of buildings and monuments.

Its name comes from the attractive reddish color, which characterizes the whole facade.

Located on the hill The Sabika, and surrounded by a lush forest, with plantations of bananas, chestnuts, elms and poplars, this important building is declared in the year 1984 by UNESCO as Cultural Patrimony of Humanity.

We have several options to get to the Alhambra, either from the Plaza Nueva in the Gate of the Pomegranates, or through the Cuesta de los Chinos at the end of Paseo de los Tristes, and the route can be done by taxi, car or public transport, but without doubt the most enjoyable, is by foot, because in this way, we do not lose any details of this fascinating ride.

There are many interesting buildings to see in this great palace city, among which stand out, the Royal Palace, Palace of the Lions, Palace of the Generalife, the Palace Museum, the Oratory, Comares Palace, the Harem, the Board of Kings, the Mirador and Gardens Daraxa, the Adarves Gardens, the Tower of the Seven Floors, Tower of the Ladies, the Wine Gate and Plaza de Armas.

Occupied in antiquity by Arab sultans, this majestic monument, is now one of the most visited in Europe and despite its long history, it remains there, proud and unyielding.
